  • Shenanigans: The Ultimate Friday Night Foolishness

Last night, my friend and I went out to browse clearance racks and BOGUS.

    I drove.

We avoided any shenanigans and looked for real bargains.

On our adventure we found some pretty good deals.

Compared with thrift stores, clearance racks often hold the best deals.

Many times, hunting for these kinds of deals helps me stay under budget.

It also supports a family on my own.

In addition to finding things for the family, it’s good to take a little time to catch up with a friend or two if you can. Part of being a good friend is being a good listener, a silent partner, or a loud supporter of shenanigans.

    I digress.

We were out and about for about 90 minutes.

Let me stop here to give a little situational context. My friend is with a guy on and off who lives with her. I do not know him. All I know is that she liked him for years, they were friends, and when they got together she was happy. However, he has never spoken to me. I mean like. Never.

You know how you walk into a room and speak to everyone, saying, “Hey everybody.” I realize this is probably prevalent for those born or raised in the south. When I have walked into the room where he is part of the group, he always looks away or turns his back when I speak. I do not know why this is. I do not speculate. However, I also know that I steer clear of him and anything having to do with him, as much as possible while being friends with his roommate.

Anyhoodles, when we go back to my friends’ house, I parked behind her car in the driveway. His car was also in the driveway. I do not park near his vehicle because I don’t want to him to have to speak to me at all, or address me in any way, even if it is to ask me to move so that he can back out if he’s on his way out.

Anyway, to make a long story longer, we were sitting behind her car, when it lit up and the reverse lights came on as though someone was about to leave. I reversed my car out of the way, since, said guy has a history of wrecking vehicles, (having wrecked to of hers in three months of each other), and I didn’t want my car to be the next victim of his heavy foot.

My friend hopped out of my car and hurried to jump into the passenger seat of her car, which was slowly backing out of the driveway. Neither of us had seen this man come around the house to hop into the driver’s seat. he didn’t notice us either, because when she hopped not the car, he immediately hopped out of the car, and went back inside the house. She told me later that he said that he was going to get some gas. Now, I don’t know about you, but, I haven’t ever known a man to get ‘suited and booted’ to go pump some gas or fill up his girlfriend’s car.

    Have you?

Needless to say, I pulled off and came home to some cookies and quiet. She told me later that she had thrown a wrench in whatever his plans were.

I always like to try to give people who loathe me the benefit of the doubt, so perhaps in some interesting dimension, he got dressed up in his button-down to look nice for the gas station attendant as he filled up his lady-friend’s vehicle for the work-week.

What do you think about the shenanigans?
